Scholarship Preparation
Scholarship and Common Entrance Programme
At Lavender Leonardos, we believe every young artist deserves the opportunity to grow, explore, and express themselves creatively. For over 20 years, we have been guiding students through the art scholarship and common entrance process—not just to help them succeed in their applications, but to nurture a lifelong love of art. A scholarship is a wonderful achievement, but the true reward is developing artistic skills, building confidence, and enjoying the creative journey along the way.
We begin with a friendly, one-to-one assessment of your child's artwork, identifying their strengths and areas to develop. From there, we create a personalised programme tailored to their needs, working through a variety of techniques including drawing, pastels, watercolour, acrylic, collage, printmaking, and sculpture. Through individual tutoring alongside term-time classes, we support them in building a rich and varied portfolio—whether a sketchbook, portfolio, or online display.
Our approach combines hands-on practice with art history and theory, ensuring that students not only develop technical skills but also feel confident discussing their work and the artists who inspire them. To support their progress, we recommend monthly check-ins either online through our Art Clinic or in the studio, providing a space for feedback and encouragement.
We also encourage students to join our exhibition tours and drawing sessions to deepen their understanding of artists and artworks—an invaluable experience for both creative growth and interview preparation.
During the 2024-25 period, we have celebrated multiple scholarship successes across London, with more being awarded each month. Our expert tutors, specialising in traditional fine art practices, help children build confidence, refine their techniques, and, most importantly, enjoy making art.
To give your child the best chance to develop their skills and prepare for applications, we recommend starting at least six months—ideally a year—before their submission date. Get in touch today to book a consultation and begin their artistic journey. Whether they receive a scholarship or not, they will come away with a strong foundation, a beautiful portfolio, and a lasting passion for art.
