Our daughter has always been passionate about art, and at the start of her 11+ year, we began wondering whether her natural flair might make her a strong candidate for an art scholarship. However, we were concerned that she might lack some of the necessary technical skills, and neither of us felt confident about how to help her put together a portfolio that truly showcased a broad range of abilities.

When we spoke to Laura and Izzy, they were incredibly encouraging, assuring us that we should definitely go for it. They recommended a mix of group and one-to-one classes to help our daughter build an impressive sketchbook of work. They also guided us in understanding what the school was looking for in an art scholar, encouraging us to visit galleries as a family and find artistic and creative inspiration in everyday life.

Over the summer, we were all thrilled by our daughter's technical progress—none more so than her! A couple of weeks after submitting the sketchbook for assessment, we learned that our daughter had been shortlisted for a live drawing assessment. Laura helped her refine her exam technique and maximise her impact in a one-hour still-life session. When our daughter was later invited for an interview, Izzy provided invaluable advice on how to articulate her passion and demonstrate real depth of interest. Our daughter was overjoyed to be awarded the scholarship, and the experience has given her confidence not just in her art, but in herself more broadly. We truly don’t think we could have navigated this journey without Laura and Izzy’s guidance, and we can’t thank them enough. 

The most charming and professional atmosphere. My 6 years old daughter counts the days to get to the class. The school develops good taste in art and the child's uniqueness. Laura and the team are like fairies working in a cozy workshop, with children sitting at a big table. Everything around them is magical.
For Christmas, Laura's mother knitted a toy for each child, the sense of family. Highly recommended.

Lavender Leonardos came to our house and hosted a 8th birthday party for my team. Laura was absolutely brilliant with my daughter, chatting about what she wanted, giving her ideas (and a book of examples). The actual event was brilliant, they did everything step by step, incredibly patient and I couldn’t believe the quality of the artwork that came from it. Cannot fault them, and it was a terrific art party for everyone…

They really did create some wonderful work which we will be putting on display back at school. My daughter recently attended a Tour and Draw at a London museum with Lavender Leonardos’ Izzy.
She loved the experience and came away creatively inspired and with tons of info.

She says: “I went to the National Gallery of Art with Lavender Leonardos. It was such fun!

“I learnt about paintings from all the time periods. From the 1000’s all the way to around now; the early 2000’s!

“I picked a painting to sketch: ’ Tiger in a Tropical Storm’ by Rousseau.

“This lesson helped me learn the History of Art and Sketching techniques.”

My daughters have been going to the art lessons for 4 years now or more, they have learnt so much and have enjoyed it a lot.
Their skills have improved tremendously over the years.

zzy has been an invaluable and immense source of support and inspiration for my daughter during her current GCSE year and also during her sixth form school and scholarship applications.

Whenever we need a steer in the right direction or a deeper more enriching and exciting experience, Izzy has been there. Her virtual sessions are an extremely flexible and reassuring tool to access whenever my daughter felt she was lost in the GCSE process - with Art being such a large and time consuming subject, these classes have relieved a lot of stress for us.
